Viewing too many houses?

Hello
Me and my partner are in a decent position to buy a house - renting at the moment, reasonable deposit in the bank. We intend to buy in the next 6-12 months - right now if we find the right house and the right price.
Do you think it's a mistake to view a lot of houses without making an offer? So far we have viewed two, and made an offer on one (rejected!) - and I'm making appointments to view some more.
Is there a danger that the local agents will start to think we are a pain and not want to show us round properties? How many is it acceptable to view before we get written off as not serious?
Also I have just made an appointment to view a house on a busy road, which wouldn't matter to us (double glazed, no children) but would it make it really hard to sell again do you think?
So many questions, so much anxiety!!
Thanks

The more you see, the more chance you have of finding what you want. If you have good reasons for not offering then no problem, BUT there are tyre kickers out there who do get "blacklisted" by EA's as such and can try an EA's patience so I guess it depends which you are. Have you got a firm idea of what you want and have you informed the EA accuarately so they know what, and what not to show you, or are you looking without much vision? That is something to think about. The clearer you can be the more chance of being shown what you are after.
Re busy roads. Some things are issues to some people! I would never buy on a busy road but the fact you would shows others would. Ask the EA if the house has been around for a while - it could slow a sale that's for sure. Is the fact that it's on a busy road reflected in the price. Maybe if it's cheaper then if in a quiet area then for some people more house for the money may be important.
At the end of the day it's your home first. If you are happy to live there for years then should not be a real issue unless it has some major issues with it.0 -
When I bought my home I looked at quite a few homes first, they were spread around a few different estate agents so I wasnt really looking at loads of homes through just one agent.
You wont annoy them but some might try to put a little pressure on you to put an offer in one, but just take your time dont rush and look at as many as you want to, make sure you get what you want. You wouldnt want to take somewhere just for the sake of it then realise a few days time that your ideal house comes on the market.Comping again0 -
