Section 75 Protection

Hi

I have a query in relation to s75 protection.

I understand there must be a 'direct relationship' between retailer and credit card company.

I purchased an item from a retailer that uses World Pay last summer. The company went into liquidation. Now, I normally Worldpay would be considered a third part (a payment processor).

I used Tesco Credit card to make the purchase.
Wolrd Pay is owned by Royal Bank of Scotland. I further understand Tesco Credit card was owned by Royal Bank of Scotland last summer.

Can I argue there was indeed a direct relationship in view of the above?

Cheers

FP

Interestingly it does say on the WorldPay website to contact your card issuer if you have a dispute.

Your correct in that it is not covered under Section 75 but I would suggest getting in touch with your card issuer anyway my preference would be by letter given the inclination of some of the people in the service centres to blindly follow the scrip on their screens.

The fact World pay is owned by RBS would I believe be irrelevant as there will be a "arms length" relationship at best plus Tesco now own the credit card company outright as they bought out RBS last year
