  • Your description is a bit vague. Start with the push button. This usually operates a simple lever or a cable which in turn works the flush mechanism. The mechanism is usually a single non-repairable item which has to replaced as a complete unit. To remove that you have to take the whole water tank off the seat by way of two fixings underneath, two more inside the rear of the tank and the release of the water filler pipe. You will find the unit is held on by a large nut inside the donut ring. Hope this all makes sense and you solve the problem.
