we are staying in express holiday inn here on 1st april,does anyone know what kind of resturants,etc in town centre or surrounding areas? any help appreciated

Drive yourself up the dual carriageway to Usk or Raglan. Lovely pubs/restaurants there. I can recommend the Beaufort Arms in Raglan - had a lovely bit of local Welsh amb there a few weeks ago.Not sure what's available in Pontypool, although if you're staying where I think you are, you are situated right next to a Harvester and opposite McDonalds.
