When will A&L Premier account bonus be paid?

Sorry but I cannot find the answer to this anywhere!

I am paying in £500 per month to my new Alliance & Leicester Premier Current account because I wasn't sure if it was a one-off payment required as suggested in one place, or a regular credit (which I expect it is).

My question is, though, how long do I need to keep doing this and when will the bonus be paid if I opened the account in March?

Any help appreciated!

;)

  • Hi, I am doing the exact same thing. I heard that you get paid in about 4 months or so. Also once you get your money you shouldn't stop paying in the £500 a month because there is a £5 charge every month if you don't pay in at least £500.

What I do is put the £500 in, leave it a week and then take it out. That way you can use the same £500 to deposit every month.

    Hi Julie!!

I opened my premier account right at the end of February and a couple of week ago hunted around on their website for when the bonus would be paid. It does say (somewhere) that bonuses are paid in the 4 month after opening your account (and making the deposits!). However, mine was paid last Tuesday.... just short of 2 months! Just keep an eye out for it!!
    start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!

Do you mean the £100 for switching? I opened end of Feb, I think, and got paid the other day.

Does the £500 include the salary that I am paying or do I have to put another £500 on top of the salary that I have transferred over

I just transfer £500 per month from my main current account and that seems to have counted. No salary is being paid in.

I opened my account on 25th March, nothing through yet. I thought they paid after 3 months.
Does anyone know whether the period for the £500 monthly payment starts, is it the start of the month or from when the account was opened?

On some accounts (such as FD) you can get away with maintaining an average monthly balance, (in FDs case, £1500)
But for A&L, you will need to pay in £500 a month AND use their switching service to get the money. You must use the service within 15 weeks of opening the account. Your reward will be paid some time after using switching service, prob 2-3 months

It's £500 a month from any source, so yes, if your salary of more than £500 is being paid in, you don't need to put any extra in.
