I have had a lot of personal experience with the NHS and I can tell you it has improved no end. It’s still far from perfect but it’s a lot better than it was.

I can only comment from my personal recent experience.

Dont get me wrong, i know it has improved massively, but my own personal experience was not a pleasant experience, being unable to work, drive, or even lead any semblance of a normal life, eventually becoming addicted to morphine based pain killers, having to fight to get what is a routine operation, plus having to contend with a reduced income, and not knowing if i would have a job if i was off work for more than 26 weeks, especially as having only been unemployed for 9 months out of the last 29 years, i would have expected to have been treated better by this country.

I agree there is still a long way to go but I do worry that if the Conservatives get in which I’m sure they will things might take a backward step.

How much more of a backwards step can the country take from where it is now?

Labour were at one time the 'working mans party'.

These days, they seem to be the party for anyone who wants a free ride.
As a tax payer of many years,I'm bitterly dissapointed in their
representation of the 'working man/woman' in the UK over the last few years and the present time.
What more can this party do to destroy this once highly regarded country ? They have blead so many people dry with there expensive policies,so much so that many people have no more to give.Don't get me wrong I love the UK,especially England, and have every intension of staying here until the day I die.
Just look how many people want to run away from it all, tens of thousands would move out of this country tomorrow given the chance.Yet so many people would give their right arm to live here.Look at the recent reports on the news at the immigrants in Calais. How many people cursed them for just wanting to get here ? Think about it,these people are desperate,so desperate they're prepared to die trying.....

This starts putting it into perspective some what ,and about the positives of this country. So although labour are screwing it up on a daily basis,I'm still glad I live here, and I am above anything else proud to be British !:T

I was, and although the economy wasn't great, there was a great deal of difference in working/not working - these days there are too many people in the position of being just as well off whichever option they choose.

Or more likely, better off not working than working for minimum wage.

It's most definately improved for the patient.

But in terms for value for money, i.e. what you get out for whats put in, it's become dire. It's taken 10's of billions of pounds more than it should of to get to the stage were at. For the money put in, the NHS should be, thanks to investment, better than private care in this country.
