  • My opinion is this.

You collected and inspected them. You were happy with them and the time so you paid for them and took them home. Had they been above the specification listed you would have been more than happy, but would you have offered the seller extra money? My bet is no.

You were happy with the goods at the time so live with it and learn when buying things off ebay in future.

    >I paid by paypal funded from my visa debit so I am within the 120 days chargeback rule I think<

I think you'll find a buyer has 45 days to raise a Significantly Not As Described (SNAD) dispute via Paypal. I doubt you'll have any luck with a CC chargeback after 60 days.

    > I went fishing...<

Not really fair on a private seller to buy new, inspect, try them out on a days fishing and return used items is it?

The rods are nice and its difficult to tell unless you get up close to them :beer:

It still kept me up all night worried though, so I'm probably grumpy today :rotfl:

You were up all night worrying that the rings on your rods are made by Kigan not Fuji?

Were you worried the fish would notice?
