Trust your instinct

Grr, am really cross today as I knew I was going to get stuffed by a buyer and I could see no way round it. Sold an item on BIN and was paid immediately the Thursday night before Good Friday by Scandanavian buyer.

For some reason I felt uneasy, so checked feedback, 5 positives so that was OK, but out of 5 feedback left 2 were negs for silly reasons, one of them she said she didn't like the item once it arrived. I could see no way round hsipping the goods so I reluctnatly made a special trip on the Saturday to post and emailed buyer to explain that due to bank holidays the item would likely be delayed a little.

That same week, about 3 working days after sending I get an email to say she hasn't got her item and is angry. I reiterated what I had said in my original mail, apologised for nay delay and said that 3 working days was pretty soon and it was bound to arrive in the next few days, I also assured her not to worry as she was fully covered if it did not arrive.

Yesterday I got a neutral to say parcel not received for a whole week after payment so seller is bad. Grrrr, I have responded to her comment and just said that people should check out the feedback she leaves for others.

makes me cross.

I wonder what feedback you can get away with leaving for a buyer.
If they only had 5 feedbacks, another buyer might read all of it... perhaps a comment like 'Transaction was as expected considering their previous purchases'

Although I do hate to give idiots positives.

I know what you mean Fay, I'm obviously trying the Ebay routes for malicious bidding and I am going to check up on the rules that came in on Ebay.com about foreign transactions and feedback removal as I might be able to press ebay.uk to do somehting, although it is a long shot.

I just knew though that she was trouble and there was nothing at all I could do about it. I had even left money in my paypal account to repay her as I was sure she was going to chargeback..I suppose she still can despite the feedback but I'm going to withdraw it all anyway now rather than be prepared to just pay her back the moment she starts a chargeback as I had intended.

If she had been a bidder on an auction I would definitely have withdrawn her bid, but she bought a BIN and even my blocks can't protect against stupidity like hers.

"Trust your instinct " it's great advice and your instinct is usually right.

Had a similar case on Play - buyer from Poland bought a CD, but only once I'd packaged it did I notice that although it was a full Polish address, the country was stated as UK. Rang alarm bells, but it was only a small amount so posted it anyway. Couple of days later, got the "item was in terrible condition, I want a refund or I'm leaving neg", type email (it was in perfect condition), so told them to swing their hook. Needless to say I did get a neg on Play, and may just be coincidence, but have not sold on there since. I did respond to say that they use feedback extortion to try to get the item for free.
