Agree that you wil probably find saddle/tack leather care more economical and a better product - as they have to protect leather that's out in all weathers.
I've used Urad and find a little goes a long, long way. A tub ought to last a couple of years (depending on how much you use and how often)Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
i have recently brought a leather sofa and one of my friends suggusted using Johnsons Mild Baby shampoo to wipe down the sofa. when i asked in a sofa shop (land of leather) one of the sales people also reconmended this
Does anyone else use this shampoo, and if so, is it any good?0 -

It's good for babies (and I use it under the shower) ... but I wouldn't touch leather with it!;)
Get a purpose made leather balm ... much safer? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

My uncle works for DFS and baby wipes take the colour out of the leatherThe best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. It costs nothing and means so much.0 -

That's probably because most of DFS sofas are pigmented leather. If they were decent quality they would be semi-aniline at least. That is to say aniline are dyed through and not surface dyed.
That said, I wouldn't use baby wipes on any leather though !0 -
I bought my leather sofa from DFS and have reguarly used baby wipes to clean it. Is now 6/7 years old and is not showing signs of fading. I think it might be prone to fading and cracking if left in direct sunlight.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0

Hi everyone,
I recently bougt a fabulous cream leather sofa from ebay, although when it arrived, I quickly realised it had come from a household of smokers! Not good.
I removed the stale smell (and the 5 years' worth of grime and dirt that hadn't shown up on the photos..!) with a generous squirt of shampoo, some warm water and a shower puff. I cleaned the whole thing like I would clean a car - lather everywhere! After rubbing it down with a clean tea towel and a touch of leather balm, it really has come up as good as new.
I was concerned about getting the sofa too soggy, but I needn't have worried. Leather is a very resiliant material! I figured the best way to remove grease and odours is to use a mild degreasing detergent, such as shampoo or washing up liquid. I opted for the shampoo as I thought washing up liquid would dry the leather out too much. I also added some bicarbonate of soda as a mild scouring agent, which allowed me to get right into the 'pores' of the leather, plus it has the added benfit of neutralising odours.
So now my sofa now smells of raspberry Herbal Essences - gorgeous! :-) And it only took one application of shampoo, and 2 refills of the washing up bowl of warm water.
I hope this helps!0 -
I have a cream leather sofa and have used a moisturising bar of soap wrapped up in an old flannel. It was a tip I read about on line and it worked a treat! Just kept rinsing the flannel in a bowl of water - you should of seen the colour of the water at the end!0
