1899/18185/18866 Connection problems

Today I keep getting the following message when I dial ANY number on 1899 or 18866. 'This number is not accepting calls at present...please try later'.
If we use BT, the calls connect OK.
Is it just me? Our bill is up to date and the website is not at all helpful.
Cheers

Sorry to have been an inconvience. I did a search of previous posts before I posted, to no avail. Upon searching again, it was last discussed on 4 December, and no mention of the message I am getting.utilitybroker wrote:Their tends to be a congestion problem at weekends due to high volumes of traffic. It has been discussed on this site a number of times before.
I now understand it is just busy. I am now looking into the free phone calls at weekends. I am not a very frequent visitor to this board, and have been prompted to do something about it.
Thank you0 -
I think the regular reports of 1899/18185/18866 congestion at weekends tends to suggest that a good few people have opted to sign up for and use them alone (i.e. have not opted for a free weekends [and evenings] CPS as well).ginger_nuts wrote:surely the people who know about 18866,1899 & 18185 also know about free evening /weekend calls ,or am I missing something ?
Happilly, that doesn't apply to me.

Click the 'HERE' link below - salvation awaits!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I like it :T I remember about 12 years ago working with a woman who unpluged her landline phone and took it to work ,just to stop her family running up a bill .Oh those where the good old days:rotfl:Heinz wrote:

Just had the dreaded message, I reckon ginger_nuts it is due to the people trying to call mobiles at the w/end rather than landlines
