Black hole of banking?

Each time I have transferred funds from one bank to another to fund my ISA, it disappears for a few days in transit (losing me interest - such that it is). How annoying is that!!!

I take it that's Banks are cheating someone!:rotfl:
No, it's "stupid old omnipresent transfer system developed in the 70s".
It's being superseded by Faster Payments, which are supposed to arrive within two hours, and so long as you're not with Abbey, Alliance and Leicester or Lloyds TSB, they work quite nicely.0 -
I have received payments from HBOS to LTSB and from LTSB to Egg money by using faster payments without any bother.0
-
I only used electronic banking because both banks (Halifax and Barclays) said they were in the "faster" system!0

Halifax are technically in the system, and they can receive FPSs quite nicely, but they're not all that good on the sending front at the moment. The big four clearing banks are doing fine though.0

Barclays is fully operational on FPS, sending and receiving up to £10,000 as per scheme limits. As are HSBC and RBS Group. Now it's just the rest letting us down. What would William Shatner do?0

Letting who down? Barclays still insist on appointments for new customers who want ISAs? Barclays will not give online banking to customers who don't have current accounts? and when your with barclays, there fantastic account system makes the telephone advisors ask you the same questions each time your ring them e.g "I see you have home insurance", "I see you have a mobile phone", "I see you..blah blah"
So please put down your "TM" Barclays rose tinted glasses and get overyourself0 -

1) As do most other banks, Halifax in my town asks for appointments. HSBC you can wait in an hour long queue to see someone though.
2) Not the case anymore
3) When has telephone banking been good anywhere?
4) You're an idiot for being so pathetic as to have a go at him for no reason. Maybe you should 'get over yourself'?0
