What are they and how much to ask?
Hi
I need a bit of help. Our Volvo died at the end of last week. Engine and clutch have caput. So I've advertised it for breaking as I've been told that we'll get more money for it that way. It's a P reg S40 2.0l.
Someone has asked for the front splitter. The long centre part only?
and the under tray
I've no idea whatsoever what either of these things are
or how much to ask for them.
Also the twin reflector headlamps.
:o
Sorry , it probably sounds like such stupid questions put I don't have the first clue about any of this.:o
Can anyone help me please?

Tell them to give you £100 for the complete car. End of.0

If you have the driveway, the time and the inclination to break the car, the undertray is the cover along the floor of the engine bay which stops road grime working up, a large piece of plastic that will cost a fortune to post by Royal mail. The front splitter is a piece of plastic below the bumper line at the front - circa 4 ft long.
The headlights, I reckon, £20 each? £5 to post each ish.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
There are three types of people in the world, those who can add up and those who can't.0 -
Take a look on eBay and see what others are offering for those parts then price yourself accordingly.0

The alloys alone are worth £70 to £100. Plus the car can't be driven away. Thanks for your suggestion though. If you have the driveway, the time and the inclination to break the car, the undertray is the cover along the floor of the engine bay which stops road grime working up, a large piece of plastic that will cost a fortune to post by Royal mail. Thanks for that. I thought that about the under tray and did find three on ebay after I had posted here.

Thanks. I had a quick look last night. Will do that for any other bits that we're asked for. As long as I know what they are.Money_Grabber13579 wrote: »I assume this isn't covered by the scrapage scheme?
Unfortunatley no and we're not in the position financially to afford to buy a new one. Hence why we're trying to raise as much as possible from the Volvo.
Thank you all for your help and suggestions.0 -
I have sent you a PM on the subject.0

Start breaking it and you will have a carcass to get rid of. You will have to decide how much hassle/cost that is all worth. So harveys suggestion is not bad might get a shade more but is it worth it? Sure you will make a few hundred in parts if lucky.0
