Problem returning item after claim

Hi, hope someone can help.

I made a claim to paypal after an item was significantly not as described, and they found in my favour. I've not done this before, so emailed the seller asking for the address to return the item. Before I saw a reply, I had instructions from paypal to post to a particular address and did so today, and provided tracking information. Later tonight, I saw the reply from the seller, which gave a different address, in the same area.

How has this happened? How have paypal given me the wrong address, and what do I need to do to get this put right?

but i think you have done the right thing by returning to the address given by paypal

did you send by trackable method?

prehaps the seller is trying it on by asking you to send to another address in the same area or maby they mooved recently and have not changed there paypal address but that is down to them not you

Thanks fc. The claim wasn't entirely amicable :rolleyes: so I did wonder about the seller trying it on too. I sent it trackable, yes, so at least there's that. I want to get a message to paypal but am struggling to find how to!

Enter tracking information through the link Paypal email you and if you need to email them, click on contact us at the bottom of the Paypal page.

Thanks cat, I've just done that now.

I'm getting paranoid about this. Could the seller have given me a different address (of a mate, say), and therefore have still managed to get the item back, but deny having received it at his own address? Does that make sense?
