Hi moneysavers,
we've had a quote for £2000 to do the following:
- rip out old bathroom
- put in new bathroom suite (toilet, sink and bath in same places as before)
- tile floors and walls
- fit heated towel rail
The quote doesn't include
- cost of new suite (we will get form Screwfix fr £200)
- cost of tiles and adhesive/grout
- cost of heated towel rail (approx 56 quid)
We are in Greater London/Surrey. Is this a reasonable quote?

sounds expensive to me, unless it is a huge bathroom and a lot of tiling.
I would guess a maximum of £14000 -
i paid £1000 for this about 3 years ago so i would agree with the previous post0

Measure the sq mt of the walls and floor and apply £25 per sqmt for labour cost of fitting.
If you assumed its a 2 day job for everything else and £250 - £300 per day is a reasonable charge rate, that should give you a ball park figure for the cost of the job.0 -
I paid £1400 labour, I supplied all materials except pipes and grout pretty much. Came to £2500 inc labour and materials.Kavanne

our bathroom is about 2m square, and about 80% of the walls will be tiled, so quite a lot of tiling. Plus there's the floor to tile too. We're getting a polish guy to come round on Tuesday to give us a quote. He's been recommended to us by a colleague so we'll see what he comes up with.
tightrs - if you're in my area do you have the name of the company you used?2013 wins: March - book,0 -
we're about to do our bathroom and our quote is 2,595 plus vat. we live in inverness. we're doing a layout change - moving bath pipes and toilet pipes plus installing electric shower and towel rail. quote includes cost of shower and rail but not the suite. also includes ripping out old suite and tiles and flooring and replacing with wet wall on 2walls.0

I paid £800 labour for mine, 2 blokes recommended through a friend and they charged £400 each per week and they did everything electrical, plumbing and decoration, all I had to do was clean the tiles when they were finished.0

£400 a week to be self employed!
As a kitchen and bathroom fitter i could make that working for a company 8-4 5 days a week after tax
