Where is the cheapest place to buy games?

I thought this would be a good forum to ask this.

It seems the games that came with my HP computer are a free trial and not totally free which is really annoying. Had I known I wouldn't have played them and got hooked.

Where is the cheapest place to buy games either online or in store? The 2 games I'm really interested in are "Penguins!" and "Virtual Villagers - A New Home."

Comments

  • From what I could see, Virtual Villagers is only available from download. All the options are on their website.

Sorry, but I don't know about the penguins game.

  • Seems strange to thank you in the older thread and then come back and ask the same question.

I thanked TangleFoot because I thought the answer provided was helpful.

I'm still trying to track down the Penguins game so I posted my message again here.

I buy most of my games 2nd hand from CEX. The older the game the cheaper it will be. They also have a stock search facility on their web site.

A bit more info about the penguins game might help. Who is the developer?
It sounds like it may be another game you download rather than purchase from a shop.

The game developer is Wild Tangent.

It's available from their website for £14.99 which is a bit steep.

The only other option is to get a monthly subscription from them to get the game cheaper. In a recent weekly Money Saving Expert newsletter, it warned against putting recurring payments on credit card so I don't really want to do that.
  • Unfortunately I can't look for you as any sort of gaming sites are blocked here at work.

Google does come up with WildGames.com, but I can't check it out. :)

I already knew that; I didn't mention it because I couldn't find it for sale anywhere else. :o
