Survey done and offer on the way – how do I get survey report?

Hi guys. I guess it is a silly question, but here you are. I have had an offer on a property accepted, then applied for mortgage with Woolwich about 1.5 week ago. To arrange the survey was in their responsibility (it is included in their package). When I called for update to mortgage processing centre, they told that valuation has been done and offer has been sent out to me, I should receive in 3 working days. Now I left confused if I will receive survey report together with the offer? That is the main point for me as the property is old and I ordered full structural survey and I even don’t know where I stand! Needless to say that calling to mortgage processing centre has been a nightmare, you repeat application ref. No. like 10 times until you get to talk to someone, and then that someone is located in India and cannot advise anything valuable. My Woolwich advisor’s phone goes always to voicemail, and I do not even have my surveyor’s contact to know how was the property. So it feels that I am approved with mortgage, but not sure whether I am buying as I don’t know the survey result. Can please anyone advise where do I stand and what should I do? Thanks!

Check all the paperwork that's come from the woolwich - it might have the name of the surveyor buried in it somewhere.
Have you asked them for the name of the surveyor? You've paid for it (as it was included, you HAVE paid for it) so they should be able to tell you which company they used in that area for surveys.DFW challenge Debt-free by Dec 2016

the woolwich are pretty grim to deal with tbh, its not just you!
i think its extremely unlikely you'd be getting a full structural survey included in the cost of your mortgage application - are you sure its not just a valuation which generally is done for the lenders benefit not yours and i think woolwich are one of the lenders who dont give the customer a copy of the valuation
i would suggest trying the agents to get the valuers / surveyors details as the valuer / surveyor must have got the keys off someone to access the property??0 -
When we did ours the report came directly from the surveyor, but they wouldn't send it to us until we'd agreed to their T&C.
The mortgage company will have got their basic survey directly, and they'll have made the offer on that basis.0 -

Thanks guys! Are you saying that two independent surveys are carried on, i.e. one for bank to make an offer and another for my reference? I did order full structural survey, I paid for it separately £900 and the mortgage advisor did mention surveyor’s name (unfortunately I could not choose – it is Barclays subsidiary, if I understand correctly). I do not have their name but I hope it will be on the report once it arrives. Is it possible that survey report arrives later than the offer?0 -

When I ordered a full structural survey for my first house (albeit with a different mortgage company), they were both done by the same surveyor. I had the basic valuation report come first and the full survey report came a little later as it obviously took longer for the report to be compiled as it was rather long. Have you had the valuation report yet?0 -

Hi, Thanks, I have not received any report yet.0 -
If you feel you are waiting too long, then give the surveyor a ring to chase them up. If that brings no joy, then complain to your mortgage lender.
A few years back I was kept waiting over 3 weeks for a survey on a property I was buying. I chased them for it & was told they had a backlog. Once it came through I made an official complaint to Halifax & advised them to consider removing this particular firm from their panel list as they were obviously not able to cope with the work in a reasonable time frame, causing unecessary stress to buyer's.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
