Hi anybody know whats wrong with my sky box/remote.
Its a curvy white one quite new still under 1 year but I got it in the free sat from sky offer.
The remote does not operate as expected only about 1/3 of the button presses actualy do anything and even then half the time it does somthing compleatly different from what the button press should have done ie press 1 and you get 4 or select and it does info, its random.

Does the LED light up when you press the buttons.
Also be aware that the volume buttons wont work until you program them in.0 -

Heres a nifty little tip I learnt to test remotes:
Point the remote into a camcorder or digital camera lens whilst looking at the screen. This involves holding the camera, remote whilst pressing buttons so can be a bit akward, so put it down.
Press the buttons and if its sending out a signal you will see the infrared coming from the tranmitter on your camera screen. If you cant then your remote is broken and needs replacing. If you can then you have a problem with the receiver in your box
Your first port of call is Sky, because you're under warranty. New remotes can be bought off the internet for about £10.0
