With yor partners name not on the birth cert no agency involved would contact your OH if daughter was taken into care.
Not sure how you meant that but I can just reassure people that if a child is taken into care social services will attempt to trace birth father (or mother) to see if the extended family can take on the caring role even if the father is not on the birth certificate. If there is no trail to follow it is virtually impossible of course but a good social worker will try to track them down if they have any lead. While I am sure there will be someone here who has a story to tell of that not happening (I will agree that some slip through the net) but if social services know the name of the father, they HAVE to attempt to contact them.0 -
He phoned what was the mothers local CSA office today. They confirmed the girl went abroad to live in 2004, but obviously that is all they could say about her whereabouts. The letter had the wrong reason on it.
They don't know why it's taken so long for the CSA to tell him he should have stopped paying in 2004 though. He's cancelled his standing order so no further money will be paid to them, and they are looking into his case to possibly refund some of the money.
Money isn't the issue though. Just glad the girl is alive and well, and still with her mother. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Phew....what a relief that must be. It is a bit worrying when you get a letter suggesting that the child is no longer with its mother and has possibly been taken into care (or worse). Glad that this is not the case.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
