I need to buy a return ticket from Stourbridge (or could be Birmingham) to Brighton 11th August, back 14th.

Virgin advance tickets are not out yet but think they will in a month or so.

Cheapest Ive found so far is off peak for £40.

Ive got a 16-25 railcard.

Im wondering if cheapest option would be either 2 advance singles Stourbridge-Brighton or Stourbridge to London 2 advance tickets and get 2 singles to Brighton from London.

Anyone know if with a return ticket the tube from Euston to Victoria is included or do you have to pay for the tube? Ive got an Oystercard.

Also does anyone know is it Southwest trains or another company that do the London- Brighton route?

I know I need to be quick to get the cheap advance tickets.

Thanks in advance!

    Just keep checking, I just had a checked for the 7th of July and you can get cheap advance single tickets Birmingham to Brighton for £5.30 (£10.60 return, 2x advance singles + yp railcard) use this website as a ruff guide to when the cheap tickets are released, watch the Virgin trains dates;

    And Southern and First Capital Connect trains service Brighton to London. If your ticket (advance, anytime or off peak) has a + on it then it covers travel on the underground (Euston to Victoria)

    If you buy a through ticket, the tube is included. If you buy two seperate tickets splitting in London, then getting across London is extra.

    Its Southern, or Capital Connect, or Gatwick Express.

    Gatwick Express is part of the Southern group. But doesn't run as far as Brighton

    Livingthedream, can I quote from Gatwick Express's website...
    Gatwick Express now serves Brighton.

    OK, not many services a day but...

    Thanks everyone - looks like Il get a cheap ticket, Il keep a check on the tickets, August ones will go quickly and Im determined to get a good deal!

    So will either be my local station to Brighton or Home to London and then pay to Brighton, either way will get something cheaper than £40 return:D

    You can get cheap advance tickets from London/Brighton with Southern - from £3 which might be worth while if the through ones don't work out.
