Firefox taking up so much memory

Yesterday and today, Firefox has been taking up so much memory. When I check task manager (processes tab), it says the memory usage is 84,802K. I only have two tabs open in this browser.

It is the first time, it uses so much memory. I don't know what is going on.

Advice appreciated.

    i have 5 tabs open and its only using 80mb for me.

    have you tried updating to the latest version?

    I agree with espresso. Thats really nothing to worry about at all (Unless you have less then 0.5 gig ram in which case id REALLY suggest an upgrade to 1 gig or more)

    Yes.

    Yesterday, it was over 100K when checking task manger...

    i'm now using firefox in ubuntu with 3 tabs open (one is a youtube page) and its using 112mb.

    but i do agree with Rik & espresso about the ram.

    122Mb with 8 tabs, one heavy in Ajax, runs fine...
