Feeding Fish to Dogs

My dog loves fish. We give her fish flavoured Burns food and as a treat we sometimes give her tinned sardines or mackrel. My parents in law have been given her pink salmon and even fish and chip fish (with the batter taken off). She loves her sardines and it makes her coat shine. I only give my dog tinned fish "every now and then", but more frequently give him a whole raw fish. They crunch through the bones, so that should not be a concern, although there is a minor risk of them getting one caught. But if you watch how much they chew, with their molars, you may be reassured that they attempt to grind the bones down to a mush before they swallow them.

Mine eats the lot - head, tail, innards ..... :eek:
