Is this fee avoidance?

Is this fee avoidance?I need a little advice please.A customer has bought 2 items from me and e-mailed to ask for a reduction in price on a third. We agreed a price and she asked me to just add it to her bill.
I dont think I can do that within ebay rules, can I?I think I have to put the item on at the agreed price for the customer and have her do a buy now,Is that right?
I have been suspended from ebay before for customer satisfaction falling to 4.5 out of 5 during that big postal strike,I got low star ratings for delivery times and that resulted in suspension for seller non-performance.Anyway I dont want to do anything which could get me suspended so really need to double check this before I respond to my customer.

You are quite right, you have to do a buy it now otherwise its regarded as trading off ebay and could get you into trouble with them. as a friend of mine found out.

Technically yes, but... well she's not likely to report you
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

Yeah,It was last April so dont know if its still the same but I had an e-mail saying I wasn,t performing within required standards and they gave me 30 days to repair it before suspension.I wasn,t selling anything at the time thought so had no chance to fix it and was suspended for 30 days.It did seem unfair.Even now when I send stuff out same day my star rating for delivery times is only 4.7,I could only send it quicker if I invented a teleporter for my parcels:rolleyes:

Just out of interest (and off topic to the question you asked), how easy was it to get back selling on ebay? Did you have to send them proof of ID or have they stopped this now?

    Thanks in advance,

    S.
