If anyone's around after 10 am today (I'm not) might be worth keeping an eye out for the Friday Four comp on allinlondon - just to make sure whoever posts it knows the site don't want the answers posting on here. I've noticed before that the regulars over on their forums are very quick to badmouth MSE if the answers are added, even if it's by a new poster who isn't aware of the request :)

Does anyone else think this is a spam site? Something not right with me but I'm not sure, thanks

so personally I wouldn't (not saying that there's anything wrong with the site but I'm just very careful with my details)

  • Thanks for all the good wishes!

PMS, I never liked telling my girls off, and I found that reward and incentives worked to get us through rough patches. For a long time DD had a stock of 20 pennies every day, and it is very important you actually have the pennies there for them to see and connect with, and every time they don't stick to the rules they lose a penny. When they physically see the money going down it focuses their minds - worked for my big girl from the age of about 3/4. Don't feel tempted to take ALL the pennies in one go if they are really bad as then you are seen as unfair and you have no bargaining power left either, so you will be in the soup! LOL!

A list of picture prompts to remind them of their responsibilities is a useful aid to the penny system. A tidy up pic (toybox maybe?), toothbrush pic, bed pic (for good sleeping) etc. Sometimes they don't mean to be naughty but are just distracted so you can refer them to their list as a warning.

Or a good old fashioned reward chart? There are plenty to print for free on the internet.

I love small people, they are great!!!! Send 'em to me for a day if you like?!?! :rotfl:

yeah nicky, looked at travelodge but wanted a hotel as close to the airport as possible, and since its a saturday night we will be staying, was much the same as the travel inn price

halfway waking kids to school, ds had sore legs and he was a bit slow walking, he ended up bursting into tears as he could hardly walk without it being sore, did something to his knees the other day, so had to send him home, now in bed resting

stressed, glad you got some positive news xxxx

    shopping later:D

PMS I often clash with my daughter over her bedroom, it is bad again so she will be tidying it up later, I caught her last night dancing instead of tidying up, so she went to bed early!!

pms, shouting wont help, believe me been there done that, its so hard though when they are bad though, as said try a reward chart but i never had much luck with them really, you are going to be tough to be kind basically, tell her she has to tidy up after her and if she does her jobs etc then she will say get a treat at end of month or pocket money for the jobs she does

we do that with our boys and works a treat, they have to do their daily jobs and lo does his bit too

if she has things planned ie friends coming over, things on, then that is gonnna have to be what goes if she is not doing what she should be, if you say she is not going somehwere etc then it has to be followed through or she wont get the message

    good luck with it xx
