We have dinner at 6 when DH comes in so I remember my baked spuds timings as follows:

    No 4 at 4pm so 2 hours
    No 5 at 5pm so 1 hour

But number 4 is best they are scrummy and soft and lovely inside :D
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)

  • I always do my jacket potatoes just in the microwave, we got the microwave as a wedding present in 2005 & it has a button on just for potatoes, you type in how many you are doing then they come out perfect!

    in my defence
    a) husband is 40 this year so he choose where he wanted to go
    b) we work really hard all year, oh does 3 shifts as well, so it 3 weeks together as a family x
We used to do long-haul before we had the kids and my mum used to look after our eldest (who's mentally handicapped) for me hubby and youngest to have some 'normal' family time on holiday and managed a few more then but we knew it wasn't going to last forever as eldest got bigger and mum got older and it had to stop when she broke her ankle a few years ago so that's the end of long-haul for us for the foreseeable future. :(

The year before last we drove to mid-France but the weather was carp so braved Spain last year but it was such a long, hard slog that we're going to try flying with eldest this year!

    !!!!

I love oven baked ones as I love having crunchy skins which are much easier to achieve in the oven.

I once managed to turn a potato into a lump of charcoal whilst microwaving it - the whole house stank for days
