Lost my Cash/Debit card.....

I have just discovered my HSBC Solo/Cash card is missing.
I withdrew some cash earlier and have this funny feeling that I left it in the machine when distracted.
I have reported it lost tonight and there have been no transactions since the withdrawal so no problems there, card has been cancelled.
Thing is, I need to withdraw the last £1000 in my current account tomorrow as I am buying a car at the weekend and the girl on the phone said I could cash a cheque with driving license/passport ID at a branch, however she was not sure if there was a limit to how much I could withdraw.
Any ideas? Especially from Shelfstacker, who works for HSBC!

HSBC, in their great wisdom, no longer have the facility to make cash withdrawals over the counter using a withdrawal slip. Nor can you use your card to withdraw cash in this way (not that you are able to in your situation). So the only option left to you - I think - is to cash a cheque, but do cash card accounts come with a chequebook?0

I still have a chequebook, although I switched to a "Green" account.
This is a current account which originally came with a chequebook, it is my understanding that the book I have will be my last, I will not be sent any more.0 -
Job done.
Wrote a cheque for "cash" as normal, signed it in front of cashier and geve her my driving license.
