EDF gas with IGT

Hiya,

I'm supplied gas (and electric) via EDF. Gas is via an IGT. Is there an easy way to figure out if it is worth switching? Comparison sites seem to not take IGT into account. Don't have electricity to hand, but last gas bill is:

Units kwh
264 2955

kwh split
First 573 @ 5.672p = £37.50
Next 2383 @ 3.056 = £72.79
Total = £105.29
Gas transportation charge = £8.54
Dual fuel discount = £2.00
VAT=£5.69
Total = £117.42

(I have just changed to direct debit so will get a discount for this too)

This is a fairly standard gas bill for us as most usage is hot water/hob as we rarely have the heating on. From memory I think the electric is 12p something for the first X units (about £30 per quarter), then 8p something for the rest. About £47 per month. I can post the rest tomorrow.

    As you know you are on an IGT you are a step ahead.
    The tricky bit it is to find out how suppliers deal with that.
    This is what I think I remember (please correct me if I'm wrong)
    British Gas, Ebico, SSE - no extra charge
    EDF - £40/year (see below)

    I think SP's extra is £40.

    Once you know what the extras are, you'll need to look at the comparison tables and do some maths.
  • EDF do charge about £40 now since last year I believe even if you are on dual fuel.
    At those amounts I would have thought that Ebico would have been in the running as you will pay a flat rate rather than pay a fairly high proportion on the upper tier.

    I looked at switching and split for the first time to SP for Electric and Ebico for Gas
    Nothing to see here :beer:
