Credit Card/Credit Record

Options
OK, so just received a credit card for boosting my credit record...

My intention is to buy things on the card and pay back same month. Whats the recommended i spend on it per month? or doesn't it matter?

Also how long will it take to have an effect on my credit score?

Thanks
-Matt

I'm not sure on the amounts you "need" to spend. But keep your account in good order, (ie prompt payment and no going over the limit) for 6 months to a year and you should be in a much better place. Good luck.
Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
    Another 3% shaved off 10/12/08
    ANOTHER 4 % June 09:beer:

I would spend at least £50 a month and paid it off in full for 6 -12 months and your credit score will improve.
  • there is no such good recommendation on how much you spend on your credit card each month. one thing you must remember is use it responsibly and pay in full for each bill cycle. good luck with your new card
