Since the TV you want is portable, it makes sense to buy that with freeview so you can carry it around without all the recording equipment!
I have not seen VHS/VCRs with freeview, but Sony do DVD recorders and it may be that some models also have a VHS incorporated. I have seen all this stuff in the Sony shops.
Whether the best choice is a TV or the recording equipment depends, as I have said, on the "portable" bit...
Having said that, I do not have freeview myself as I hardly ever watch TV.
Hope someone else comes on here with more complete advice.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

Did a quick google and see Maplins are doing a portable Freeview TV for £200, only an 8inch screen.http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news.php?newsId=2335
There won't be any VCR's with freeview as the format is now obsolete, its all hard disk drives and DVDs now.
