iPOD Touch and Skype

Further to my previous question, I'm still not clear -

Can I get headphones and mike that will plug into the big socket on my First Generation iPod that will enable me to use Skype. I had an email from Skype publicising their new service but I'm still not clear whether I can use it on a 1st Generation Touch.

As Lakeuk stated, the headset won't work with a 1G iPod Touch - if I've got this correct (I'm not that audio component literate!), the 1G headphone socket is the standard stereo type (with two black rings), whereas the 2G uses the three black ring type - the extra ring isolating the microphone segment of the plug.
However, you should be able to use Dock connector type microphones - I think Griffin do one for the Touch and there are others out there. In theory you should be able to use one of them with a normal pair of headphones.
