Adobe PDF problem

For a while now I haven't been able to view / open any PDF files.
I use Vista and have IE and Firefox as browsers.
Today I again tried to install / update Adobe and Firefox kind of froze and said the installation was corrupt.
This laptop is about 18 months old and I have viewed PDF's on here lots in the past.

Please advise me on how to install properly

I assume youve tried uninstalling the one thats installed (But corrupt) now?

I have looked for it but cannot see it. Have tried in Uninstall a program, and looked in the start menu.

Download REVO UNINSTALLER (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD NOW')

Look for ADOBE READER to uninstall using revo

Thanks RIK, but Adobe Reader isn't showing.
The only Adobe items are....
Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX
Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin
Adobe Photoshop CS2
Adobe Shockwave Player 11

Try an older version. This ones 8.1

Thanks RIK, I tried to install the older version but a message says there is another installation in progress.

I also installed the Foxit reader for now.
