Problem with Scottish Power but moving out...

Hi all there, I have an open dispute with Scottish Power but I'm also moving out soon.
I just wonder if the next occupier of the flat I am leaving (that I know!) will be affected by my open dispute? I really hope not.
A long time ago, I was told that it is sufficient for a new occupier to communicate the current meter reading. Old disputes are associated with old occupiers only. Is this still correct?
Thanks for any reply.

Depends, what is your dispute? Is it something affecting your account such as your payments and balance or the meter and readings?0

Do you mind if i ask what your problem is? I do work for gas n electricity company and have learned a little in the few years i been working there.
If their is a bal on your acc and you dont pay and new occupier moves in...they will have to send normally a copy of tenancy agreement to the supplier so they will set up a new account in new tenants name.0 -
My problem is: as the Ombusdam got involved, it might take months before the dispute is solved.1oneandonly wrote: »Do you mind if i ask what your problem is?
I just hope the provider could not refuse to accept the new tenants until the dispute is solved.
if that would be the case, the flat would remain un-rentable for the duration of the dispute and the landlord would want me to pay the rent until the flat is not rentable again. I have already been told this is not possible, but ehi I expect everything from providers by now.
They who? The new tenant(s)?If their is a bal on your acc and you dont pay and new occupier moves in...they will have to send normally a copy of tenancy agreement to the supplier so they will set up a new account in new tenants name.0 -

Nope shouldn't cause a problem, as you have a complaint lodged already just call them up you will probably be passed to a complaints department and they will be able to take the details and close your account.
Do you mind us asking what your problem is with the readings?0 -
