Which energy company for good customer service?

I'm sick to the back teeth of EDF. Since moving they have messed me around by giving conflicting information and not replying to e-mails. So, I'm wondering which gas/electric company has the best customer service and is there such a thing these days? I used to be with Swalec (no problems with them) but I don't think they supply the South East. Any ideas or feed back welcome.

Swalec are part of Scottish and Southern (I think) and like all suppliers cover the entire country.

Thanks! I thought that Swalec might only cover the South west. I haven't checked their prices for this neck of the woods.

Swalec are part of SSE but if you were to join them you would come under the Southern Electric brand.

I think I have just read a thread where Southern Electric didn't rate too highly with customers.

If you were to call Swalec it's the same people that answer the phones. All the same customer service, same tariffs, same discounts, same prices (depending on area), same company. Just different brands/trading names.

They are a weird company, tbh. Their CS seems to get decent-ish write-ups but oh dear their door step sellers are another matter.

I know when I was with Swalec I had no problems with them and their online billing was really easy to understand, unlike with EDF. I didn't think the tariffs would be the same but thanks for that! I'm in the process of having my gas with EDF (yes I know, groan!) and I haven't had the paper work through for that to say they have taken over the gas so could I still change supplier in the mean time?

I saw that link on the other thread Carmine. I have to be fair though as I changed from British Gas to Swalec when they came on my door. They worked out a lot cheaper and this was before the bad stories circulated about their door knockers.
