I've got a separate graphics card which is working OK (AFAIK)
Under Physical memory on Task Manager the total reads 1048048 (apparently that's K):wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Just back. Went abroad for the day.
If as you say you are using High Density RAM, the system is only recognising 512MB of the 1GB module. That together with your other 512MB module takes it to 1GB RAM.
The obvious solution is to purchase Low Density memory if you feel that you need to take it up to 1.5GB.
Guaranteed Low Density 1 GB RAM. Not cheap.
Play.com has this for £17.99, but confirm that it is Low Density before you purchase.
CPU-Z is designed to tell you what is actually inside your machine, that's why it does.0 -
Ahhhhh. Light dawns!
So CPU-Z tells me what is actually there, not what Windows is recognising.
OK - numpty-level question now.
Is there any way of getting my system to recognise the High-Density RAM I have installed as 1GB?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

OK - cheers.
I'll have a look at the Crucial website again to see what they're charging.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

All I can think of is that you're using the integrated graphics on the motherboard and it's set to use 512MB. If so, you should be able to reduce that in the BIOS.
Edit: The product spec on MSI's site mentions you can only assign up to 64MB. So...um....

It's not just onboard cards that you can assign system ram to.

I assume ATI has an equivalent. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
ATI does have an equivalent.
I have the 9250 card which, it appears from the link you supplied, doesn't have this technology.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
