Collars for scruffy cats

Three finger rule for cat collars - if you can get three fingers in under the collar it's slack enough to come over their head in an emergency.
For cats who hate collars though, they will try and pull them off, and often end up with paws or lower jaws stuck in them in the process of trying to remove them.:rolleyes:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

yes this is why i dont like elasticated collars but snap open ones. They will come off if the cat gets snagged on something and paws and jaws wont get stuck inside.

Legs/jaw etc, if a collar has any give or space in it, then if the Cat can get out it will also extend to allow things to get in, lost count of the Cats i've seen or heard about getting legs caught & in my case jaws (With a safety catch too)0
