Sports equipment insurance

Options
Does anyone know of an insurance company that would insure my dog agility equipment? Some of it is kept outside and some is kept in a locked shed. I've no idea what sort of policy I'm looking for, but Zurich have just told me they don't deal with insurance of that nature and so I'm assuming that a lot of other insurance companies will say the same thing.
Don't mess with pensioners.

Is it used professionally or just for a hobby?

If there is no professional use at all then your home insurance should cover it when its within the boundaries of your home. There is often a limit for items outside in the garden of around £1000 and another limit which varies between around £1000 and £5000 when its actuall in an outbuilding eg garage or shed.

If you need it covered away from the home it may be a bit more difficult as its they tend to only offer cover for personal effects which is normally defined as items you would normally carry about your person. Under this definition the leads and whistles would probably be covered but not frames etc. (You would need to have the extension on your policy for personal effects for the leads and whistles to be covered).

Give your Insurers a call, the person who answers may not understand due to limited knowledge, if this is the case ask for a superviser. Make a note of the name, date and time of the person you speak to.

Thank you for your reply. The problem is that it's not within the boundaries of our home, it's on a piece of land that isn't included in our house deeds so I would need a different policy to the normal house insurance. I actually need something to cover the equipment and the shed as this could cost me quite a lot of money to replace.

You could ask your Insurers if they can extend the it to cover it on the land.
