Toyota Gearbox Problems
I have a Toyota Corolla 1.4 52 plate. Its manual. I went to Toyota Jemca few weeks ago with a problem with my vehicle. The car made this big clunk and continuously made a clicking sound as i drive. Toyota took the vehicle for the day and found there was nothing wrong. After which i continued to drive the vehicle while also hearing this clicking sound on from my vehicle. Yesterday i was in Birmingham and it got worse as well as the car kept on slowing me down like as if i was braking but i wasnt. RAC confirmed that there is a problem with the gearbox and the vehicle cannot be driven. The car was recovered to London and Toyota is investigating the vehicle.
I am frustrated that they didn't pick up on this few weeks ago when i took it to them. All RAC did was to lift the front left wheel and lock the front right and backs. After revving the car a little he could hear it. He was puzzled in why Toyota didn't pick this up. Apparently since the clicking sound started i may have been damaging the car.
I am carless and need a vehicle soon and Toyota is refusing to help me at all. They are being really defensive by stating that i don't get my car serviced at Toyota and that could be a problem. I ALWAYS maintain my vehicle at a local garage with Toyota Genuine parts. (Toyota Labour rates are expensive).
I mainly need a vehicle for the time being and i don't know if they should be liable for arranging that. Can someone help me?

Well the car is not in warranty so you just need to get them (or your normal garage)to isolate the problem and fix it.
Are you expecting a warranty claim?0 -
Is it a MMT gearbox ??0
