I ws in Morrisons one day and there was a John Lewis lorry driver in front of me in the queue - when the cashier charged him (over £180 for the full tank ) he asked him 'Do you have a Miles card' and the driver replied 'No, we're not allowed them!'
When I said to him 'That's a shame, as you could pay for Christmas with your vouchers for the year' he told me that a driver had actually been fired for collecting the vouchers on the grounds that it was 'defrauding the company'.
The company, however, don't COLLECT the vouchers or use them in any way - not for charitable donation, nothing. What a bizarre policy....No, Mr A, that is NOT 'Great news'!!
Wombling totals: Oct = £243.32 - £93.32 over target!
Nov Wombling Tally: £27.36 so far... behind target0 -
I hope you were bright enough to slip him your card.I ws in Morrisons one day and there was a John Lewis lorry driver in front of me in the queue - when the cashier charged him (over £180 for the full tank ) he asked him 'Do you have a Miles card' and the driver replied 'No, we're not allowed them!'

so am i right in thinking that with fuel about £1 per litre that you have to spend about £333 to get a £5 voucher?
is that equal to a 1.5% saving or have i got the t&c wrong???0 -

They advertise it at equivelent to 1.5p per litre cheaper0

It's a straightforward rewards scheme - get a 'Miles' card from the kiosk; use it every time you buy fuel there (either automated if you choose to pay at the pump, or at the counter when you pay). Once you've clocked up the required number of points, then the cashier will give you a £5 voucher for an in-store spend. No minimum spend needed to use the voucher, but if you spend less than £5 with it, you don't get any change. We used 2 vouchers with our shopping last night, on a £30 total bill.
What you need to watch is the price of the fuel in the first place; as one of the earlier posts says, it gives a return of about 1.5%, which is about 1.5p a litre on fuel at current prices. So, if the petrol is no more than 1.5p more expensive than the competition, and if it doesn't add extra miles to your journey to fill up there anyway, it's worth doing.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
My son works at Morrisons part time, so fill up when I drop him off. I've had two vouchers so far. Ours is cheaper than everywhere else too, so it's worth it if you are going there anyway.I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0
