Problem with BT Basic

I posted a couple of weeks ago about getting a cheaper rental home phone for my elderly mother.
After receiving some good advice from you kind people I asked for an application form to be sent for my mother to get BT Basic (she's on guaranteed pensions credit).
It hasn't arrived and I've just tried to ring them. I got through and then was cut off - this happened twice!
Is there some devious plot afoot so that this service isn't taken up or have I just been unlucky?

Well I'll be going on it any day now and i know when i first enquired about it they did try to keep me on option one, and i was told the process could take up to 3 months, in the end it took about 3 weeks (if that to be honest), contact them, they send you a simple form which gives them permission to contact DWP and they check if the person who's the bills name is in, is entitled to various benefits, if so then she can go on it, as i say only took at most 3 weeks from first enquiry to being told a date i was going on to it.
Hope it helps, just keep trying

I had a look on the BT site, seems ludicrous to me that they can't just post the app form up as a PDF so you can download it. Confirms my suspicions that they really don't want too many people applying for this scheme...

Thought I would update this in case anyone else finds themselves in this position - having difficulty in getting an application for BT Basic.
Having read through some threads I decided to email Ian Livingston about my problem.
Well, I cannot believe how quickly things moved. I had a prompt reply from Ian L. and then more emails (this was at the weekend, evening time as well!) from different people, telephone calls, all apologising for my difficulty in obtaining an application form for my mother.
To cut a long story short this morning a guy telephoned me and he said he had designed BT Basic and spent a good 10 minutes explaining it to me.
Plus, he has taken my mother's NI number and is going to sort out the application himself and backdate it for a month:T
It seems that if you go 'to the top' things can get done.

Having said all that it's not done yet!

Will update with any further news!

Also, the reason the application form cannot be put on the website, apparently, is that they wanted to make it as simple as possible and the form has a bar code (similar to a passport application form) and this may not print correctly when downloaded and the form could be rejected. (A bit of a technophobe myself so hope this makes sense!)
