Direct Response Home Security systems.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of dealing with this company?

They are proposing installing a free security system which is monitored, only an installation fee to pay and then a daily monitoring charge.

Any views would be most welcome.

i have had one of these alarms fitted in my home
it was a free systems and a fee for the installation and monitering. also a £25 police fee, but that is so that the police attend my home if the alarm is sirening.
I have had the alarm for 2 years now and i have had it serviced when it need it and they have provided me peace and mind.

i would recommend the system if the opportunity arises
  • It seems that the above poster is a rep of the company!

  • its always better to know about their installation charges and other charges coz thr r many companies who charge a lot even though they say its free and its also better to check with people who have genuinely used their service.:j
  • its always looking into all the costs - with a GOOD system - you will need all the elements working, insured and monitored.
Direct Response Security - can supply what you ask for - but i would suggest that the fee you should be looking at paying for a service like theirs, will cost between 2 and 3,000 pounds per year - if you break down the installation, servicing, monitoring, vat, etc.
Monitored alarms are good - they are what people really want, however not always in everyones grasp.

More spam from Direct Response Employees

An alarm for a home would not cost £2000 to £3000 a year.

Are you aware it is against the law to post on forums and the internet purporting to be a member of the public and extolling a business when you work or are associated to them. If you are not aware have a look at the unfair business practices as you are breaching this law. (You can be traced from your IP address if anyone reports you)

Just had a call from these guys.
Apparently their official representatives are in my area.
It turns out that it is this private company who make them official. Doesn't sound _very_ official to me!

Was concerned that they knew my name, phone number (despite being on TPS, and it wasn't an international call) and address. Guy on the phone apparently didn't know where they got my details from.
I didn't like the idea of bringing in a stranger from a company I had never heard of who are on possibly dodgy ground in contacting me in the first place coming in to my house and seeing all my security arrangements!
Was concerned that they were fishing for people whose addresses they knew who were going to admit to having poor security.

Am quite reassured to now google them and find that the con is just that it is an overpriced "freebe".

Phone book (if you're listed)? Electoral register (unless you've opted out of the list that gets sold to marketing companies)?
