After putting in my first letter to Abbey i've received a letter and questionnaire which states i must return them within 14 days. Is this a stalling tactic? Do I have to complete this questionnaire? - its got details like earnings, marital status, other policies/investments etc. this information would have been provided when I took the loan out in 2005.
Can anyone offer any advice? many thanks

Hi there
And yes its more than likely another stalling tactic.
They should already have the information on you from when they sold you the policy, many on here write back and tell them the form have not been completed because they should hold all the details on your account from when this was sold to you.
Its up to you but they still have to investigate your complaint with the given timescale of 8 weeks they have, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi there,
Definitely a stalling tactic, I had to fill in one of there questionnaires, sent it back 17/03/09 (recorded delivery), they claim they have no record of it and want to send me another one!! Why would I complete another one only for them to say they did not receive that either?
They have all the info they need and are stalling.0 -

Wish I had read your post before I sent it back!!!!!!! Forgot to tell them that OH has insurance through his employer; accident, sickness etc. Do you think I should forward this info to them or wait until I get another response.
Not had the rest of Bank Statements from Abbey and have phoned them. Not very helpful. Should I report them now? Thanks:o0 -

Hi JOSOM
If they do not resolve this matter for you, then let them know in another letter.
However, you could if you wanted to and in case they do not give you further opportunity to give further information, write this down in another letter now and tell them this was part of the information and another reason for your complaint in your letter. (Tell them you want this treated as if it was in the first letter you sent off) with the date that was on the letter.
In regards of the statements if this was requested as a SAR, and they have not complied by the 40 days, then yes go for it, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Di3004. Requested the Statements using the first template letter on this site. Received some from March 2007 to March 2009. No further contact. Thanks for your advice. Will dig them out and go through them again though have to admit they are a bit confusing. Duplicate Statements etc. Think they doing that to put people off? Any word on the interview?0

Hi JOSOM
I agree with you.
Good luck on digging the info out, you could write back and tell them if they do not supply you with all you requested without reason, you will contact the Information Commissioners Office:
https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
Give them your own timescale now as well, afterall its what you paid for.;)
Should be given a date for interview this week, I shall keep you posted.
Thanks for asking and good luck to you also.:A;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0
