  • Use My own car, do need to change my insurance to business class, but not done as of yet...

Dont need pubic liability as i am employed by the company and covered under theirs.

Worked m 2nd night last night again only 3 hours made 11 deliveries so £8.80 which they give at end of shift which is handy, but only £3 in tips as most of mine had either been prepaid online or which cards over phone. And got a free pizza at end of shift which was an added bonus.

First proper night working tonight and being friday would expect to be busy as the other drivers have said it always is, so hopefully a decent night of tips.

So you are on the pizza companys books but use your own car ? Do you pay for your own fuel as well ? Do they pay you cash, cheque or into your bank account ?
  • Yeah employed by them but drive my car.
I get 80p per delivery for fuel, so if there are 2 orders in the same direction i will take both deliver them and get £1.60 in total for that 1 trip.

Get paid the fuel money cash at the end of the shift, plus any tips i get as an individual i keep myself, don't have to share amounst drivers on shift.

get paid cash every 2 weeks with a payslip

I use to get paid £4 an hour plus £1 per delivery so I could get around £24-£38 ish on a busy night. But I would have to pay for own car, petrol etc. I could easily spend £30 a week on petrol ( 4 nights, 3 hours Thursday, Sunday, 4 on weekend) and do around 40+ miles a night on a busy night, you get sick of the freebie meals after a while

Tips most people dont tip, you might get 1 out of 3 customers and you have to ring some customers to get them to answer the door in flats as they dont have door bells.

I packed it in last Summer due to price of petrol and running car, it really does take a battering does your car going over speed humps etc and I drive slow.

My suspension had to be replaced in Jan due to working for a takeaway, I hardly sued the car for anything but takeaway

Wait until the large bills come on for car maintenance then you might think again.

I was thinking about doing this once I've finished at uni for summer. Can anyone comment on how much more its likely to cost you for extra insurance?

And also, do they provide a sat nav or anything? Im a right spanner when it comes to directions!
