First Time Buyer - What do I do???

Hiya, My girlfriend and I are about to move into our first house in about 2 weeks and need to find a Gas and Electricity supplier but don't know where to start.

I have been looking at various websites but they all want to know our current supplier and usage levels which having never had a supplier before have no idea at all of what to put.

We will be moving into a small 3 bedroom house in warrington, any help would be very appreciated. Where should I be looking? What do I need to know beforehand??

Thabks, Nick

  • First take a meter reading and if you know who the supplier is ring them and advise them you are the new occupiers and give them your details plus the readings.
Dont agree to any contract at this stage as you want to be shopping around.
The compare sites are very useful if you know your annual usage etc but not helpful for new occupiers/owners.
My rule of thumb is go for the lowest price per unit.
