Is 21,300 kWh a high reading for a quarterly bill?
We have a two bedroom bungalow and tend to use gas for cooking (burners) and for an hour or two of heating per night.
At GBP400 per quarter it seems a lot to me......

WOW i have just had my 1/4 end of nov to end of feb used 8168 kwh
we are in 3 bed end terrace bungalow half of it is an extension which meets all current building regs other half has cavity walls but still has 12" in loft and is plastic d/glazed we have a combi and cook on gas always warm ( to warm IMHO ) had a shock last year first bill here was 300 for same period as this , this one is 180 we thought meter was incorrect i guess someone read it wrong when we moved in but i can live with it now.
Do you have full loft Insulation 12" can get a grant for that and cavity fill, that would helpDiv 1 Play Off Winners 2007

Not having your boiler serviced regularly can make your bills up to 2/3 more expensive. Look into getting Boiler cover, it'll save more money in the long run.:beer:0

Transco guy has just been. He tells me the reason is that Powergen are charging me in feet, but my metre is metric. It all needs dividing by approximately 3.
Jeeez, these guys. I confronted them 6 months ago over the bill price. They told me to switch off my central heating (this in the middle of last summer). I've had enough. After claiming my cash back and considering legal action (for the undue stress) I'll be switching them off, before their next price hike.0
