I want Contens insurance Only as I'm a renter - advice please!

I rent privately and I don't need buildings insurance as this is looked after by my landlord, but I do have contents that I would like to insure... surround sound system, laptop, PS3, Guitar etc and some items of furniture I'd be upset if they broke.

Most companies seem to do buildings and contents together, does anyone have any tips on how to go about finding prices for contents only?

I don't want to pay a fortune but I want to cover the items that I'm most bothered about.

Any help very much appreciated.

I'm sure I can't be the only person who doesn't want to pay to insure both building and contents.

Mnay thanks,

Laura

Most firms will let you do contents in isolation - it is a major part of the market for tenants like yourself.
I don't tend to go to many quote sites (I get fed up with them) but there should be tick boxes to indicate which covers you need. If not - try setting the buildings cover at nil.

As above, most will do contents only. The online sites may try and market a package but you certainly dont have to buy both.
