Barclaycard non cancellation

I've had a barclaycard lying around for a while unused since my 12month 0% deal run out and as I have a day off I thought I would cancel it. I rung them up and spoke to someone in India who then transferred me to the UK cancellation department. After a bit of haggling from them I'm keeping my barclaycard with a 12month BT with 1.25% fee. Result, worth ringing up the companies of those old card too see what you can get off them to get you to stay.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I called them the other day to do the same, have 2 barclaycards (one was a Morgan Stanley) from ages ago both 0 balances. I cancelled the first one with the person at the call centre in India and then when I tried to cancel the second one she said that she couldn't do it and transferred me to UK. I didn't need a balance transfer deal so I've got 2% cashback for 12 months on all purchases - result
