voipcheap playing tricks

has anyone noticed that voipcheap has gone from being a fully free service to one that has a time limit for the credit? i recently topped up my credit to 10 pounds and thought yep, that'll last me through university.

suddenly, i'm being charged 0.005 pounds per minute for calls to ireland that were supposed to be free. the next day it goes free again. then it gets charged again!

anyways, i've just updated my voipcheap and suddenly there's a little notice saying that i have 135 days to use my credit. what kind of sneaky little trick is this? grab a large share of the voip market with promises of free calls, then charge after loadsa people sign up.

their customer service email seems to be less busy then a piece of wood. i'm really disappointed with the service nowadays. i was wondering if anyone has the same problems?

Yes they did it couple of months ago when china was free on voipcheap but they shifted and only UK was free on it then came france germany and now lots of them. The trick is they will always say we are in beta and by saying this beta they are covering lot of mistakes.

The original voipbuster also pulled the stunt about time-limiting the credit in the account, but they only gave about a months notice that it was going to expire. I guess too many people like me, sitting on their credit and making fee calls !

"that'll last me through university" isnt quite the attitute to have to a free service. EVEN if they expire the credit I for one have had a terrific service, made free phone calls for months, and at the end of it either call somebody where I am being charged (to get rid of the credit), or forget about it, and "give" them my credits as a thank you for using their service. I'll probably just leave it as I have made calls for FAR more than the €5 I credited my account. And when the credits expire I will look around and see which VoIP provider the best service (free countries, etc), and credit another €10 or whatever the limit is.

Enjoy it while it last, but dont expect it to last forever.

Mine runs out on the 7Apr 6mths after taking it out, it's frustrating that there are no terms an conditions to tell you your credit is only valid for 6mths

In 6 months I've only used 278 minutes on free calls so it's not worth me adding another £5 of credit to continue to get the free calls

end of the road for me with VoipCheap
