Teletext

A month or so ago, the layout for Teletext underwent a few changes and since then, I have found it has a few issues.

After keying in 301 for news headlines, a list of about 12 titles is shown, but there is no guarantee that whichever number I key in, ie 307, will show the appropriate story.

Also, when viewing my local headlines, 331, quite frequently whilst reading a story, Teletext reverts back to normal tv screen.

Has anyone else noticed this. Both my TV and recording machine are expensive Panasonic items.

No such problem here - all the pages you mention appear normal and the linked pages work correctly. However, you're not the first person to report problems with Teletext in the last couple of months.

There's been some speculation that it's likely to get more and more neglected as a system as they get ready to turn it off.

One other thing that might be a possibility - perhaps you have a mix of old and new pages cached? I'm not sure if Fastext memory gets cleared when the TV is put in standby, but it might be worth powering off the set at the mains for a while in case.

Thanks, actually we have turned it off at the mains as we've been away.

Here, in early March. Someone in the West Midlands who suddenly couldn't get BBC pages 600 onwards. I recall it because I don't use Teletext now, and so had to turn on an old TV to check. As with you, I didn't see the problem that they were seeing but, like you, they were in a different part of the country from me.

It was me in the West Mids who had probs. I resigned myself to the fact that due to the lack of maintainence, I just had to live with the prob.
A couple of weeks afterwards, normal service was resumed and there have been no probs since.

OK, something lese I forgot to mention. On returning from holiday, "a new DVB service" note came up, I rescanned and now on 82, Sky News, there is no signal. Unsure where to do a scan for myself.
