Who has their act together on applications?

I'm looking for a new 0% card to BT to before May. I haven't had my tart alert yet, but panicking a bit after reading all the horror stories on here re how long it takes for an application to go through. Got a pretty good credit score so I hadn't expected a knockback but well, those horror stories again.

Can anyone suggest a card company that has their act together ? I would like time to apply for a second card if the first one doesn't come through..
Currently with Abbey
Thanks
HLK

  • My most recent card is from Virgin (MBNA). I applied on line August last year, the whole process took less than 3 weeks.
Probably too long ago to be useful to you though!

Since MBNA also run the Abbey card, the OP will not be able to BT to any MBNA run card.

    To the OP...

Before applying for a new card, check out Who Owns Who to make sure you don't waste a credit search.

Thanks yorkshireboy - I did apply last year for a virgin card but they knocked me back although they were very nice about it and said I had an excellent credit score. The decision was based on the fact I had an abbey card already , I had forgotten about it. So I just rang abbey, told them the story and they gave me a 0% for 9 months. So I'm aware of the MNBA thing, just didn't know where to find the table of who owns what - so thanks again.

Someonw must be able to recommend an non MNBA card - with a reasonable credit limit and a not too bothersome application process.

Yes, but that thread was about 'holding' the two cards at the same time - I *think* oops a daisy wanted to BT between them which is not allowed.

    Sorry about that..

YB - been reading up on threads in stoozing and an item brought me to mind that I got a Cap 1 invitiation for July 2007 a couple of days ago.. I couldn't see a BT fee.. so must find where I stashed it.
