When you are running Anti Virus/Spyware scans, you should do so in Safe Mode for best results.

The reason? Often viruses/trojans/spyware can't be removed if it's running. In Safe mode, they are not given a chance to start up. Therefore, when they are detected they can be deleted. To get to Safe Mode, press F8 just after the PC has posted (the text has disappeared when you switch it on) but before you get a Windows Splash screen. A menu will appear and you can select to start Windows in Safe Mode.

Download full working trial copy of System Mechanic. That has a registry startup checker. It allows you to delete entries. It also has spyware removal, though I prefer to use XOFT. Some spyware are clever enough to put it back into startup. I had issue with one spyware, just couldnt remove it. In the end the only way I got rid of it was to use something called Adaware Away (not adware by lavasoft). It took a couple of runs but did get cleared in the end.

Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.

ok, no problem. Nothing worse than a spyware u cant get rid of. Adware Away was the only thing that worked for me.
