priority for social housing?

Funnily enough I have just received a letter from my council saying I have not been given priorty housing on medical grounds due to the fact that we said we would take another house as well as a bungalow or a ground floor flat.

The reason we put that was because we were thinking, If the house had a downstairs loo and a dining room that we could change into a bedroom. Where we currently live we are not on a road so no parking and on a very steep hill, at the moment I use a stick and am a part time wheelchair user and I'm struggling.

I have called the assessement team to say I wish to appeal and explained my reasoning in putting a house, they have told me they will call me back later today.

Heres hoping they will change their mind.

have u tried getting a mental health social worker they should fight for u to get rehoused i know there is a housing crisis but its worth a try

Well they called me back, what a B****Y waste of time typical council bureaucracy. They now understand why I put a house as one of my options, however I need to fill in the forms all over again

I only filled them out 3 weeks ago and nothing has changed apart from taking the house option off!!!!!!!!!! I seem to spend most of my life filling in forms:mad:

how daft hopefully at least they may then give you the medical priority, i know what you mean about forms it seems to be my new career, had so many to do recently but its normally worth it in the long run.
